By registering to attend an Open Farms event on the www.openfarms.co.nz website, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You and your party agree will adhere to the Open Farms Code of Conduct.
- You and your party will participate in the Open Farms Limited (Open Farms) event in a manner that does not endanger yourself or others. Safely participating in an Open Farms event includes, but is not limited to:

- Listen and abide by all reasonable instructions, rules and signage given by the Open Farms event host or staff/volunteers/helpers.
- If you do not understand anything or have any questions at any time, seek clarification from the Open Farms event host or staff/volunteers/helpers.
- Keep to all allocated pathways, wear appropriate clothing for the weather and appropriate and safe footwear (covered and sturdy).
- Understand that Open Farms events take place on farms, they are exposed to outdoor elements and may feature uneven, unstable, pot-holed, sinking, wet, muddy, slippery, undulating, steep etc ground surfaces.
- Do not enter prohibited areas.
- If you enter through a closed gate, close it behind you.
- Do not access or climb onto any equipment unauthorised by the Open Farms event host or staff/volunteers/helpers.
- Do not feed any animals unless provided with specialised feed and authorised to by the Open Farms event host or staff/volunteers/helpers.
- Use hand washing facilities after any contact with animals and prior to eating.
- Pregnant women should avoid any contact with animals.
- Adults are solely responsible for any child in their care at all times. You agree to monitor and supervise any children in your party throughout the Open Farms event.
- You agree to attend any health, safety and biosecurity briefings if required.
- Should you see anything you deem to be unsafe in any way, or any incidents occur, you agree to advise the Open Farms event host or staff/volunteers/helpers immediately.
- You and your party acknowledge, understand and assume any risks involved in participating in an Open Farms event. You agree to accept full responsibility to assess and respond appropriately to any dangers, hazards and risks you may encounter during the event, regardless of any action, or inaction, on the part of the event organisers and other persons, corporations and bodies involved in, promoting or staging the event.
- You and your party understand and acknowledge that the organisers of Open Farms (including its officers, sponsors, employees, subsidiaries, guests, contractors, event hosts or other stakeholders) provide no warranties regarding your wellbeing, safety and property.
- You and your party agree that, to the extent permissible by law, the organisers of Open Farms (including its officers, sponsors, employees, subsidiaries, guests, contractors, event hosts or other stakeholders) and other parties associated with the event, have no liability to you or your party whatsoever for any direct, indirect or consequential loss, sustained by you or your party during, or in any way related to, your participation in Open Farms.
- You and your party authorise the use of your voices and/or likeness in pictures/video recording in any broadcast, promotion, advertising, any other current and/or future media technologies and in any other way, to Open Farms Ltd without payment or any other form of compensation.
- You and your party agree that you are in appropriate physical condition to participate in an Open Farms event and that you not aware of any illness, injury, physical disability or impairment which may cause you injury or death during, or as a consequence of, attending the event.
- You acknowledge that you will be in the presence of live animals and sometimes their actions or behaviours can be unpredictable, and incidents can occur.
- In the event of illness or injury whereby you or your party are unable to give consent to receive medical treatment, you hereby consent to be treated.
- You and your party understand and agree that situations may arise during Open Farms, which may be beyond the control of the organisers.
