Avonstour Island has been evolving on this property for 24 years. The evolution process is ongoing. Visitors will see improvements and changes each time they visit. We are a rare breeds farm and we are providing courses and education to the public. Visitors will see some of the rarest livestock in New Zealand.
On the property is also heritage trees and orchards and we are strongly connected to heritage and heirloom plant growers. We support historic country crafts and activities and hope this area will grow as we evolve.
On the day we will encourage you to do farm walks and view the various livestock breeds. There will be also a petting area where you can both feed and pet the animals. Pony rides will be available for children. We have some diverse stalls booked in which include the following and more: Danish pancakes, local produce, wood craft, art, homemade goods, antiques and collectables, skulls, honey, leather work, soaps, gardening and self-sufficiency supplies, and lots more.
There will be also live music, karaoke, archery, vintage machinery, harness making and poultry & livestock for sale.
Koha donation entry and please bring cash for the rides and stalls. We would love to see all of you and your family and friends.
